Theresa Shaughnessy - Chair
Theresa was a teacher and was Principal of Avonside Girls' High School until 2010. Then worked as a consultant until full retirement in 2015. She is a member of the Rotary Club of Linwood Woolston and is active within the club and the Rotary District.
She has a strong interest in art and volunteers as a guide at the Christchurch Art Gallery/Te Puna o Waiwhetu.
Frank Stewart - Trustee
Frank recently retired from a career as an Economist, lastly at Environment Canterbury.
He is the South Island Chairman of the New Zealand Shareholders Association and a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport.
Frank is a member of the Rotary Club of Hornby along with being a Trustee of it’s Charitable Trust.
His community involvement further extends to being a board member of the Pacific Leprosy Foundation.
Murray Compton -Trustee
Murray is a retired Chartered Accountant and was a partner in Ernst Young prior to establishing his own specialist tourism consulting practice. He is a member of the Rotary Club of Riccarton and a past District Governor. He was Chairman of the Nurse Maude Association for 20 years and remains on the Board. He was awarded the QSM for services to business and community in 2010. Originally a Rotary appointee to the Trust, he is now a Laugesen family appointee.
Kyran Newell - Trustee
Kyran retired from paid work in December 2022. For the 12 years prior to that he worked in executive development and business improvement as co-owner and co-director of Organisation Development Institute, which is a national provider of customised leadership development and organisation improvement programes throughout New Zealand.
Prior to that Kyran had a 35-year career in leadership and management positions (Chief Executive, National Manager, Regional Manager, Programme Manager, Trustee) across a broad range of industries (forestry, financial services, trustee services, executive education, retirement villages).
He has been a Rotarian since December 1996, is a Past President of the Rotary Clubs of Christchurch and Belfast-Kaiapoi, and is a current member of Ōtautahi Passport Rotary Club
Shiree Hembrow - Trustee
Shiree has been a Financial Adviser with phwealth based in their Christchurch office for over 18 years, however has been in the financial planning and investment industry for over 30 years and is a member of Financial Advice New Zealand.
Shiree is a Past-President of the Rotary Club of Christchurch where she has been an active member for several years. As part of her commitment to service, Shiree is the Club’s representative for the Keith Laugesen Trust. Shiree has had involvement with the JR McKenzie Youth Education Fund and Outward Bound through her Rotary Club.
Ingrid Thomas - Trustee
Ingrid is a Laugesen family appointee.
She is a Past President and member of the Rotary Club of Lyttelton.
Her career roles included 2 terms as an Upper Hutt City Councillor, General Manager of Community and Family Services at South Auckland Health, Chief Executive Officer for Nurse Maude Association and has been involved with many community health/activities over the years.
Ingrid is committed to the fair and equitable distribution of the Trust’s funds to needy community groups.
